I have owned the Leap Motion unit for a few months, and used it with my Oculus Rift headset with FlyInside on Prepar3D v3.
I wanted to reduce the amount of cabling dangling from my head, and reduce the amount of USB power required from my PC (lots of controllers as well as Rift & sensor and soon Touch and second sensor), so I purchased an HP Leap Motion keyboard.
I would like to know if this was a wise move. The normal unit is attached to the headset, looking basically along the arms and I found this made operating some controls in P3D quite difficult (VR cockpit controls in the sim), because my actual controllers were blocking the virtual ones.
Using the keyboard may, I hope, negate this problem, as the keyboard is usually just beyond my throttle and stick, on the desk. But is the vertical sensor going to be able to capture as much arm/hand movement as the headset-mounted device?
I guess I will find out soon enough - but I was wondering if anyone has already tried this?
