Hi. I own a LeapMotion for some times now and recently mounted it on my good ol' Oculus Rift DK2. The tracking is quite good and frankly, I wish there was a ton of demos making use of those two devices. The result is astonishingly fun and really freaking impressive.
Now, as I just said, the tracking is quite good. While the Leap does an amazing job at tracking my left hand since Orion, it seems to have some troubles with the right one... I already ran the calibration tool several times without any difficulties. It easily goes above 80%.
First, my virtual right hand often feels a bit off in space. Also, fingers tracking is less efficient for the right hand (this is silly but, to give an example ; this is almost impossible to give a proper finger with the right hand). Finally, my right hand tracking often goes crazy for a couple of seconds (the "Opus" demo is really frustrating to play : aiming is very hard and inaccurate, the virtual hand goes mad and "fist detection" fails too often, causing unwanted shooting).
I took a look at the LED located on the edges of the Leap and noticed that one of them is brighter than the other. Is it normal ? Could it cause the issues I describe ? Is it a known defect ?
Thank you for answering and looking into the issue.
PS : I saw a user also talking about a LED being darker than the other (he provided pictures), although he did not mention a difference between the tracking quality of one hand by comparison with the other (his tracking seems just bad for both) :
