The issue about using a pedal instead for pitch bending is, (like most keyboard players) I am already using a pedal for sustain control with one foot. If I have both feet on pedals, I'm bound to fall on my back sooner or later.
On the other hand, following the Walk This Way idea, if I put a shiny 1 inch hand outline sticker on the back of my shoe, maybe the hardware can track it from a foot or two behind me? Heel up/down = sustain on/off. Heel left/right = pitch bending up/down. Yay, no pedal at all!
Or (a hand tracking idea) can the system track hands from the side? While I'm holding chords I can't move hands left or right (I tried it), but I can still move my wrists up and down. So if the hardware could track that from the side (because from the front my keyboard is likely to cover a down move), perhaps the wrist moves could be turned into MIDI pitch bending?
